- Material with a high affinity for proteins, viruses, and DNA, which decreases with the increase in pore size
- Thickness varies between 80 and 140 µm depending on the pore size increase
- Resistant to aqueous solutions in the pH range of 4 – 10
- Dry thermal stability at temperatures below 130ºC
- Autoclavable at 121ºC
- Water extractables less than 1%
- Good pore size uniformity across its entire porosity range
- Compatible with hydrocarbons and some organic solvents like chloroform
- Transparentizable with immersion oil, with a refractive index of 1.4142, for microscopy
